This is really unbelievable. But it serves an important lesson. Famed New York Times columnist Paul Krugman this week actually said death panels – where certain people are denied life saving health care by the government – is key to fixing health care in the U.S. And he used the term “death panels.” There is no doubt liberals like Mr. Krugman believe this disgusting thing should be law, but their insistence on keeping it secret is what is truly infuriating.
On multiple occasions in the last two years, Mr. Krugman has himself blasted republicans for even suggesting there are death panels in Obamacare. Here are some examples, courtesy of NewsMax
“Right now, the charge that’s gaining the most traction is the claim that health care reform will create ‘death panels’ (in Sarah Palin’s words) that will shuffle the elderly and others off to an early grave. It’s a complete fabrication, of course.”
“For the main G.O.P. line of attack is the claim — based mainly on lies about death panels and so on — that reform will undermine Medicare.”
“Politicians like Sarah Palin — who was, let us remember, the G.O.P.’s vice-presidential candidate — eagerly spread the death panel lie”
“Senator Charles E. Grassley feeds the death panel smear, warning that reform will ‘pull the plug on grandma,’”
But this week, we get something shocking from Krugman:
“Some years down the pike, we’re going to get the real solution, which is going to be a combination of death panels and sales taxes. It’s going to be that we’re actually going to take Medicare under control, and we’re going to have to get some additional revenue, probably from a VAT. But it’s not going to happen now.”
There is no denying that Obama’s health care law grants panels of individuals power to decide who receives what care and when. This is extremely dangerous. We should want no part of it. Liberals like Mr. Krugman went bananas when republicans pointed these out and coined the phrase “death panels.” And the same Krugman, who repeatedly said republicans were lying, now admits what he really thinks. And he used the exact same phrase he once claimed to despise.
I should point out again, these are the people who claim to be the champions of the poor, oppressed, downtrodden, and the weak. They blast conservatives as uncaring, even hostile to the weak of society. Yet who is it that is coming to the defense of the vulnerable? And who is it that is looking at them as no more than dollar signs? It is not surprising to me. This is the same bunch who think abortion is morally right and think conservative Christians have it all wrong.
Please wake up, America. Your country is crumbling from the inside.
